will a type 4 engine fit a bugafter a conversation between me and rich the other day i am seeking advise before giving the thumbs up on the rebuild of my twin carb 2 ltr type 4 engine.
basically, will it physically fit into a bug? any thoughts anyone?

however my chop bug used to run a 914 engine....which is a type 4, just have to chop bug a bit, and convert to upright cooling, if goin the 911 fanshroud look route is very very dear!
a well setup 1600/1641 will go well....not as good as a decent type 4, but they are a lot heavier!

bollocks. its never as straight forward as you first expect. had a read of that article and it makes a lot of sence, realistically is it worth the effort??
considering i dont have a shell yet im just collecting bits

hehe, if your going to do a crazy swap go all the way. My dads Jag XJS is on its last legs. Maybe he'll let me have the 4.0 straight 6 for my golf... I could always sit on it if there no space left inside :p

haha could go into competition with adz's mid engined v8 conversion on his bug haha.
