WANTED - 020 5spd box for mk1 CaddySorry that my 1st post on here is a parts request but I've been recommended the site by a mate who said someone on here is more than likely to be able to sort me out.I'm after a new box for my caddy as the syncro on 3rd is completly knackered. The box I've got is a 020 code AVX so I really want a 5speed to replace it. Cash waiting and happy to collect. Cheers James |

well done James  was just coincidence i picked the phone up at mikes breakers, i only popped in for a quite visit to tell him our new baby was all good, i cant stand ringing phones! lol, hope someone can sort u out man

I have a 020 sat in my back garden at the mo. I drove the mk2 golf gti home that it came from so I know its good, Has just been sat outside for a while tho with no speedo drive. Will probably need a flush through with some oil, and then put your mk1 inner drive flanges in as the mk 2 ones are bigger.. I think? Yours if you want it for 20squid Cheers James |

Yeah thanks mate, I was recommended it by someone at work so have lurked from time to time but never got around to signing up. James - you don't know the code off the box do you? Take it it's 5 speed? It's worth a try for £20. I'm pretty sure you can swap the flanges. cheers James |

yea u should b able to change the final drive flanges over dude, think its a 10mm nut in the centre of each one then they just pull out

Its Not a 10 mm dude, Its just a Plastic cover then a C clip , Theres a super stiff Spring behind them too so Try to Hold the cup before removing the clip, I think I used some threaded Bar in the centre and A Flat piece of steel to stop the cup flying off, you need something like that to put them back together anyway or you cant put any tension on the spring, I got caught out on this a few times already!!! I got told, 'Im sure there all the same'!!!! Pretty much the same story as 'porsche engines fit straight in there'!!!!!! | ||
