Mk1 Golf 3door 1.8 8v Satin BlackHey guys, selling one of my dubs...Volkswagen Mk1 Golf 1.8 8v Carb. Selling my golf due to having just bought a new car and have no use for this one. Paint/Bodywork It has been painted in satin black all round and still has the original red in the door shuts, engine bay and interior. The bodywork is very straight for its age and I can't see any rust. It has crosshair style front headlamps and small lower front spoiler. Wheels/Suspension The wheels the car will come with are 15" BBS RXII that have powdercoated black centres and chrome lips. I will photo these on the car later in the week and upload them. The suspension is lowered all round by 40mm on standard shocks. Engine/Gearbox I believe the car used to be a diesel however it has a 1.8 8v fitted with pierburg carb and 5 speed gearbox. The engine does run well and is very fast. The gearbox is very smooth also, one of the best 8v boxes I have ever driven. The gear shift is also very positive and was overhauled by the previous owner. Interior It has been stripped out and could do with some tlc. It has Cobra bucket seats and harnesses fitted. The driver seat is on runners and the passenger seat is fixed in place. Also there is a rear brace welded between the rear wheel wells. Points to note The car does need the tracking setting up as it does pull to the left slightly. On cold start ups it does not always tick over but once warm it runs very well. There is a slight exhaust rattle every now and then. The passenger footwell gets damp after heavy rain also the rear bootlid seal leaked once after I jet washed the car.
