Early MK2 Golf GTI 16V Monza BlueBought this a few weeks ago. For those watercooled heads this one. 1987 D-reg Golf GTI 16V in rare Monza blue. She had a 2k respray in December so minty fresh. Only 103k miles and pretty much standard.

Seen this a few times, does look clean!
It needs a serious drop though, it's running *High*, lowered with a nice set of rims it would look sweet!!!
Although I guess that's not your cup of tea!!

Yeah it6 has standard suspension, although appears very high at the back. I'm swapping the pslots for the alloys it should come with. Early 16Vs had 'bottle tops'. Then I'm going to invest in a set of coilovers and drop it.

My old Mk2 didn't have it either, mine was slammed with 17's on, was great to drive, but what a pig to park!!

Only the 90 spec ones had power steering. Trying to source the early type side moldings - think I've found a good set now.
I like the early quater windows and early badges - feels really retro
Thanks for all your positive comments guys. Putting this on the club stand at GTI Spring festival.
