Hi all, yes i am coming to to Beechenhurst so will see you all then.  Very Happy
Daisy is my beloved 1971 1302s, i've had her about eight years, I saved up to buy her as my first car and learnt to drive in her, so we've had quite a few adventures! I'm from the forest and lived there till we went off to uni, Daisy loved sunny devon but the sea air was not very good  for her and she had to have a lot of welding in 2003 (needed a new floor really but was a struggling student!) Then in 2005 she had a major overhaul, new floor pans, heater chanels, panels, respray the lot, she just needed a few more bits and pieces to finish her off but then all that went out the window with a new engine and suspension... its 2054cc and runs about 14 seconds, do you want the full engine spec or will it bore you all to death? Smile We have been racing for a few years and next on the list is a new gearbox, have a late mexican bug called Rufus who i've used as a daily while Dais has been off the road and she is now looking for a good home, shameless i know  Smile

Hey Louise, good to see you on here I haven't seen you in ages probably not since last years transport festivial, was surprised not to see you this year although I spent alot of time at Mark and Emilys beer stall.

Going to see trim and sarah on the weekend their having a blessing or some such church related lovey dovey-ness.

See you at Beechenhurst anyhow...
kirst

Ful engine spec please you got me all intreagued  Very Happy
is that the original colour it's lovelly
daisydavey

Here you are then...  the engine spec is 2054cc, SCAT counterweighted 74mm crankshaft, with SCAT lightened flywheel and Kennedy stage 1 pressure plate (all balanced). Case was drilled and tapped for full flow oild system, external oil cooler and fan, 2 quart deep oil sump. 94 bmm pistons and cylinders. Straight cut cam gears, Engle FK44 camshaft, SCAT pro comp 1.4 ratio rocker assemblies. Cb performance 044 cylinder heads ported and polished. Twin weber 48 IDF carbs, Msd ignition & control box.  For the suspension she now has some lovely coil overs so is lower than the above pics but breaks still stock (scary i know) Most of the rest of the car is stock except the replica riveras. the tyres are 195/65 R15 on rear 155 r15 on the front. Shiny shiny SCAT drag fast T shifter, had to lose the bumpers too as they were too heavy Smile  She's pretty solid now but could do with some cosmetic work, esp inside... The colour is her original just resprayed.
Here are some work in progress pics.... (the rusty one is a 'before' pic!)

Hope your not all asleep now  Laughing
kirst

Hell no def not asleep  Very Happy
cant wait to have i nose im well impressed  Very Happy  who did you get to do the work on her engine ?
daisydavey

Had bits of machining and balancing done by various people, case was done by John Maher but my boyfriend put it together (with a bit of help from me and our friends!) we started collecting parts a few years back so its been very much a long term project Smile He's always been into dubs and so is quite good with vw engines...  the resto was done by a vw specialist in Herts but someone we know and a friend painted it....
It's still not running perfectly and we had a lot of problems the first couple of years with cooling, oil leaks etc but its much better now, Beechenhurst will be her first outing this year cos we didn't manage to send the forms back in time for Coleford transport festival. Then after that he is taking her to RTTS so have to see how that trip goes cos she's been stood a while and its quite a long trip, you guys normally go down for that? x Smile
kirst

I got kiddies so rtts is not for me to bloody old for all that now lol  Very Happy
Be really good to have a chat next weekend  Smile
daisydavey

Yeah, that will be lovely, looking forward to meeting you all x
