Alloh's people!
As some are aware, I'm a complete novice when it comes to anything mechanical! Been having a few issues with ma bug for a while now, slowly getting through the repairs (which is good!).
After letting the battery get completely flat (started motor cable was off (thanks Rich ) i charged the battery for a good while and she was working like a beaut for a few days.
Took her for a long run on Sunday, and started having a few issues with second gear. Coming off of junctions and going around corners moving into second, she sometimes kangaroos! Never had this before, i thought it might have been something to do with the distance and heat so i left her for a day.
Yesterday, tried starting her up and the engine would fire up, for about a second then die with no revs. Tried for a good 5 mins, but no luck.
Today, tried starting first few times she wouldn't go. Then suddenly she burst into life! A MASSIVE plume of grey then black smoke. She stayed running, although i didn't want to go anywhere for the fear of not getting her started again. So left her running for 5 mins with me sat in her. I noticed that there was a louder than usual grinding noise coming from in between the seats.

The grinding goes away when i press the clutch pedal in.
Any thoughts guys?

Engine out change it put back in. But you may want to concider a clutch change while your there and with the engine out depending on how good the clutch is obviously. Kits are avalible with clutch plate, friction plate and thrust bearing or you can the bearing on its own from some where like heritage, gsf etc. Hope that helps
