some details
Coleford Carnival of Transport & Auto-Jumble
Easter Monday 13th April 2009
The Coleford Carnival of Transport is unique, taking place on the streets of Coleford in the heart of the
beautiful Royal Forest of Dean. The area is an ideal holiday destination for those who love the
countryside in general and woodland and rivers in particular. Coleford is a perfect base for your visit.
The Coleford Carnival of Transport has been taking place for over 10 years, and is probably the largest
event of its kind in the country. The Town Centre is closed to allow vehicles of all periods and types to be
displayed. There are dedicated areas for military and commercial vehicles which allows them to be
displayed to better advantage.
This is a free event organised by enthusiasts for the pleasure of other enthusiasts.
The town is easily accessed from the M4, M48, M5, M50, A40 and A48, lying in the heart of the Forest of
Dean - 6 miles east of Monmouth, 13 miles north of Chepstow, 10 miles south of Ross-on-Wye and 20
miles west of Gloucester.
